Most YouTube Views in Single Day

Korean pop star Psy had the bar raised high for his first song since "Gangnam Style" and, believe it or not, he's breaking records again. In the first 24 hours after its debut, his video for the new song "Gentleman" — which launched April 14 on YouTube — was watched 38 million times, according to new YouTube stats. Yeesh, that's a lot. The previous record holder for the most views in one day was set by KONY 2012 (30 million views) last March. As of now, "Gentleman" has 200 million views and still a long way to go to reach "Gangnam Style," the most watched video ever on the site with 1.5 billion views. "From a stats perspective, it's one of the biggest music video launches the web has ever seen." YouTube said in a statement. "For some added perspective, 'Gentleman' was seen 100 million times in less than four days in regions all over the world, a milestone that it took 'Gangnam Style' nearly two months to achieve." "Gentleman" tied the record for hitting 100 million views in three days with a video of the Russian meteor in February. "Gentleman," released April 13, hit 100 million views in three days, tying the record of the Russian meteor from February, according to researcher Visible Measures.
